What causes indoor air pollution?

Many daily products may contribute to inferior indoor air quality in your Memphis home.

This includes:

  • Chemicals in [carpet, furniture and drapery that let off fumes
  • Cleaning products
  • Paint
  • Personal care products
  • Air fresheners and candles

Though they are typically more efficient, newer homes don’t have fresh air the way older houses do. Secure weather stripping and storm doors keep inside air in and outside air out. This provides higher energy savings, but the lowered exchange of outdoor and indoor air can trigger contaminants increasing inside your home.

In these circumstances, a whole-house ventilation system is recommended. Ventilation systems exchange polluted interior air for cleaner outdoor air without sacrificing energy savings.
