4 Signs it’s Time to Replace your Boiler

Age 

If your condensing boiler gets routine maintenance, you can expect it to function about 15 years or so. Cast iron boilers can last a lot longer, even up to 50 years with proper maintenance. If your condensing boiler is close to 15 years or your cast iron boiler is getting close to 50 years, it may be time to consider an upgrade. 

Bills 

If your utility bills are going up or you’re having to call an expert about your boiler more repeatedly, it could be because it’s time to purchase a new, more efficient boiler. 

Discoloration 

If you discover yellow flames on the gas burners and black soot on oil burners it could be a signal that the fuel is not burning properly and could be generating carbon monoxide. If you notice these issues or have any concerns about carbon monoxide in your home, you should call Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning or your gas company straightaway. 

Comfort 

If some of the areas in your home are too hot or too cold and you can’t seem to control them appropriately or get them comfortable, it could be that your boiler is not effective anymore and you could need to look into upgrade alternatives.
