What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with a few of the most common A/C problems in Memphis.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioner working but there isn’t cool air being produced, you might need to have your refrigerant levels analyzed. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air coming out of your system is actually cool. Call Service Experts and we’ll come out and examine your refrigerant levels and look into why your air conditioner is not blowing cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

A reason your condenser fan may not be rotating could be that it just burned out and you require a replacement. Humidity can cause more condensation so a second matter to watch for is that the water is not draining correctly or that the drain is restricted. If you can verify these matters, you may be able to discover the issue; if not, give Service Experts a call and we can look into what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and review your options to get your system up and running again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering your thermostat. It sounds silly but sometimes we forget the obvious. If that doesn’t get your air conditioner cooling, inspect the air filter. If the air filter is blocked, it could cause significant cooling issues. Another problem that could cause your lack of cooling is that your AC equipment is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a common issue when homes are constructed. Service Experts will come out and conduct an analysis to determine if the size of your unit is causing your troubles.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your AC is short cycling, or turning on or off continuously, it could mean one of several things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and requires cleaning. Once the unit is cleaned and all clogs removed, you may be good to go. Keep in mind that humidity also plays a part so if your home cools to the right temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm back up, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the system is having to work harder to keep your home comfortable.

No matter your issue, whatever air conditioning trouble you run into, Service Experts is here for you 24 hours a day so we can get your home comfortable quickly.
