Humidity: Obtaining the Perfect Moisture Level

HumidityHumidity can be a drag, but even more importantly, moisture levels can have a big impact on the quality of the air within your house and your home comfort levels. The United States Environmental Protection Agency urges families to sustain proper humidity levels, saying it is one of the most important ways to improve air quality in the home.

As it turns out, you have control.

The best thing to do is to install a whole-house humidifier and dehumidifier system. Humidity levels in the range of 35% and 50% are preferred for comfort, experts say. But if you are looking for an environment without microbes and that won’t damage wood, the humidity levels will need to be kept between 45% and 50%. Humidity should be maintained properly to keep you home at the right amount.
